NYC

Visiting NYC? Here is a list some of my favorite coffee shops, restaurants and bars.

♥- Decent (it made the list)

♥♥- Pretty darn good

♥♥♥- An absolute must

COFFEE

Blue Bottle ♥♥ multiple locations

Very good. Get the hot single origin of the day

A Little Taste ♥♥♥ 26th and 7th ave (midtown)

The best coffee in the city hands down. French Press. The little baked goods they sell are to die for.

Cafe Grumpy ♥♥ multiple locations

Coffee snobs will love this place.

Joe’s Coffee  ♥♥ grand central station

Conveniently located in grand central station among other places

Ralphs ♥ E 55th and 5th ave (midtown east)

A favorite of instagram bloggers because it’s so cute located on the second floor of the 5th ave Ralph Lauren. Great for a mid-day shopping break. Coffee is alright.

A Rustic Table ♥♥   42nd & 10th ave (hell’s kitchen)

Great place to study, write, catch up on emails. Coffee is very good and they have little plates if you get hungry.

Green Nature Coffee House  ♥♥♥  42nd and 11th ave (hell’s kitchen)

I love this place. It’s my go to for catching up on work on my Monday’s off. Plenty of seating and great coffee. They also have arepas and I love arepas.

BREAKFAST

Friedman’s ♥♥♥ 31st and 7th ave (midtown)

Egg white wraps are to die for. So is the coffee. Toast comes with some delicious raspberry spread. Located right across from Penn Station so awesome for breakfast right before early trains.

Bubby’s High Line ♥♥ washington St and ganesvoort (meatpacking)

Great food and coffee. Awesome atmosphere and cut place. A little pricey

Sarabeth’s  ♥♥♥ central park south

A classic New York spot. The omelettes are amazing. Get there as soon as it opens to get a table outside when the weather is nice, otherwise you are in for a very very long wait. There are other locations but this one is my favorite. Early breakfast with a view of central park is priceless.

Jack’s Wife Freda ♥♥ carmine and bleeker St (west village) lafayette st. (soho)

An adorable American-Mediterranean bistro. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

BRUNCH

Fig and Olive ♥♥♥ w 13th st. and 9th ave (meatpacking)

You must order the crostinis. The truffle mushroom croquette is pretty awesome as well.

Blue Water Grill ♥♥ 16th and Broadway (union square)

Gorgeous building. The food is great. Sitting outside when the weather is nice leads to great people watching in Union Square.

The Park ♥♥♥ 17th st and 10th ave (the high line)

Trees indoors. So many cool rooms to eat in. Prices are very reasonable. It’s a really cool spot. Great for dinner and drinks as well.

Chalk Point Kitchen ♥♥♥ broome and thompson (SoHo)

Unbelievably cute place. Decent prices. MUST order the toast and jam. Seriously the best jam I have ever had.

Bergdorfs ♥♥ central park south

Fancy shmancy brunch overlooking central park.

LUNCH/DINNER

Friedmans ♥ 31st and 7th ave (midtown)

The fried chicken sandwich.

Dos Caminos ♥♥ 13th st and 9th ave (meatpacking/various other locations)

Ohh do I love my Spanish food. This place is an nyc chain but the food is so so good.

Cafe Frida ♥♥ columbus ave and 77th st (upper west side)

A great casual Mexican restaurant right on Central Park West. Guac and margaritas.

Corner Bistro ♥♥♥ W 4th st and jane st (west village)

Cheap burgers and beer. Stays open very late. Quintessential west village locals spot. The burgers and fries are the best in the city (Keenan’s favorite).

PJ Clarkes ♥♥♥ 55th and 3rd ave (midtown east)

This place has been around forever. It was Frank Sinatra’s favorite nyc hangout and gets a quick shout out in mad men. Very cool place with great burgers.

Anywhere on Stone Street  ♥♥♥

This gets three hearts for the whole experience not the food. The food is decent but the atmosphere is where the quality is. Any place to eat here is decent, you have to sit outside if the weather is nice. Great for after work drinks.

Brooklyn Height Wine Bar & Kitchen ♥♥♥ 50 henry street (brooklyn)

Perfect for after a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. Its right near the end of the bridge on the Brooklyn side. Must order the fig and ricotta crostini. So affordable and everything on the menu is delicious. Great for wine and apps or a full blown dinner! Makes me wish I went to eat in Brooklyn more often.

Adella ♥♥  9th and 43rd (hell’s kitchen)

A cute little wine bar great for drinks and apps. The flat bread pizzas are awesome.

**a little dressy**

Pio Pio ♥♥♥  10th and 43rd (hell’s kitchen)

Order red sangria and fried rice. You have to order the fried rice. The empanadas are pretty good also. The building was designed by some famous architect so prepare to be amazed.

Patsy’s ♥♥♥ 8th ave and 56th st (hell’s kitchen)

The best Italian I’ve had so far in the city. The building needs updated but the food is ahhhmazing.

Victors Cafe ♥♥♥ broadway and 52nd st (hell’s kitchen)

Great Cuban food. Very authentic and worthy of South Florida.

Beauty and Essex ♥♥ essex st and stanton st (lower east side)

Speakeasy. You have to go through a pawn shop to enter. Really cool overall experience and the food is decent.
